The Oslo Metro is a model of energy consumption since a
complete eco-assessment report covering the entire lifecycle provided
information for im-provements. It requires 30 percent less energy than
the previous trains used due to its lightweight design and the fact that
it feeds the braking energy back into the power supply network. Emission
levels are just 2.6 grams CO2 per km and ton train weight throughout the
entire lifecycle.
